Motorist sues over Bethalto crash

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a Bethalto collision. 

Christopher Slone filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Dillon W. Adams, alleging he breached his duty to exercise ordinary care in controlling his vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 28, 2016, he was driving at or near the intersection of Moreland Road and Illinois Route 140 in Bethalto when Dillon attempted to make a left turn and caused a collision. 

Slone claims he suffered injuries and trauma, pain and suffering, incurred medical expenses and lost wages. 

The plaintiff holds Adams responsible because the defendant allegedly attempted to make a turn when it was not safe to do so. failed to yield the right of way and failed to keep proper attention on the road.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by James Ryan of Gori, Julian & Associates PC in Alton.
