BELLEVILLE — A driver is suing her insurer for allegedly refusing to make payments for her uninsured motorist claim.

Raquel Redmon filed a complaint on Oct. 22, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. alleging that the liability insurer violated the Illinois Insurance Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges an uninsured driver caused a rear-end collision on the Interstate 70 ramp on Dec. 17, 2015. On Sept. 12, Redmon demanded arbitration for her uninsured motorist claim against State Farm.

The plaintiff holds State Farm responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to respond to her demand and failed to pay all sums to which she is legally entitled.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $60,000 and all other relief that is just and fair. She is represented by Jeremy A. Gogel of The Gogel Law Firm in St. Louis.
