BELLEVILLE — A man is suing shuttle bus operators and two drivers for allegedly causing a multi-vehicle collision in Caseyville.

Chaba Moses filed a complaint on Oct. 8 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Support Systems and Services Inc., Southern Bus & Mobility Inc., Doryliss A. Liner and Thomas A. Heugle, alleging negligence. Liner was employed by Support Systems and Southern Bus.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 25, he was traveling behind Heugle on Highway 157 in Caseyville when Liner negligently caused a shuttle bus to collide with Moses' and Heugle's vehicles.

Moses claims he sustained serious and permanent injuries to his brain, head, neck. back, pelvis, chest and internal organs.

The plaintiff alleges Liner and Heugle failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to take evasive actions to avoid the collision. Moses also alleges Support Systems and Southern Bus failed to ensure that Liner had a valid commercial driver's license.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs and interest and all further relief the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by David L. Grebel and Mark R. Niemeyer of Niemeyer, Grebel & Kruse LLC in St. Louis.
