BELLEVILLE — A laborer blames several manufacturers for his lung cancer.

Joseph R. Loyd and Holly Loyd filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Cooper Crouse-Hinds LLC, DAP Products Inc., 3M Company and the defendants.

According to the complaint, Joseph Loyd was exposed to asbestos fibers from products manufactured by the defendants. He was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year, the complaint states. The plaintiffs alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate warnings and instructions concerning the dangers of working around products containing asbestos fibers.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory and punitive damages of more than $50,000. They are represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian & Associates PC in Edwardsville, IL.
