BELLEVILLE — An Amtrak employee claims she was injured while attempting to assist a passenger.

Roxane Pound filed a complaint on Oct. 4 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against National Railroad Passenger Corporation, better known as Amtrak.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff worked for Amtrak at its St. Louis station when she was allegedly injured while assisting a passenger on an escalator.

As a result, Pound claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries to the muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and tissues, the complaint states.

The plaintiff alleges Amtrak failed to provide adequate training and tools to safely do her job.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs and interest. She is represented by Robert P. Marcus of Kujawski Marcus LLC in O'Fallon.
