Dram Shop suit filed against Grafton restaurant following fatal crash

EDWARDSVILLE — A woman filed a Dram Shop suit against a Grafton restaurant, alleging an intoxicated patron caused a fatal collision with a motorcyclist. 

Grafton restaurant faces a lawsuit over a fatal car crash involving an intoxicated patron.

Angela Gray, as representative of the estate of Chad M. Gray, filed a complaint on Oct. 2 in Madison County Circuit Court against Mo Khamee and Karen Khamee, who operate the Ruebel Hotel & Restaurant. 

According to the complaint, one of the defendants' patrons became intoxicated at the restaurant and left in his vehicle. The intoxicated patron allegedly ran a red light and crashed into Chad Gray's motorcycle. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in excess of $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Gregory M. Tobin and Robert W. Schmieder of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
