BELLEVILLE — An East St. Louis police officer brought a lawsuit against a motorist who struck her parked car.

Tracy Long filed a complaint on Sept. 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Michael Schultz.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was sitting in her police car after investigating an accident when the defendant drove his truck into her. She suffered serious injuries, resulting in disability and disfigurement, pain, medical bills, and loss of income, the complaint states. The plaintiff alleges the defendant was speeding and not paying enough attention to the road. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Kevin Boyne of Kevin Boyne PC in Belleville.
