BELLEVILLE — A Missouri resident accuses an auction house and salesman of fraudulently concealing damage to a vehicle.

Jared Fronk filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Enrique Ramirez, America's Auto Auction St. Louis Inc. and Drive and Ride Car Sales LLC. Fronk, alleging the defendants violated the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff purchased a 2004 Ford F-150 from the defendants for $4,000. One hour after purchase, the main computer and the computer module for the fuel pump stopped functioning, rendering the vehicle inoperable, the suit states. The plaintiff alleges the defendants concealed prior damage to the vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury. He also seeks compensatory damages of over $6,000 and punitive damages of more than $100,000. He is represented by David M. Duree of David M. Duree & Associates PC in O'Fallon.
