EDWARDSVILLE —  Rosewood Care Center of Edwardsville is being sued after a resident allegedly fell and suffered fatal injuries.

Franco Spraggins, the administrator of the estate of Gwendolyn M. Scott, filed a complaint on Sept. 25 in Madison County Circuit Court against Bravo Care of Edwardsville Inc., the parent company of Rosewood Care Center of Edwardsville, alleging the nursing home violated the Nursing Home Care Act.

According to the complaint, Scott was a resident of Rosewood Care Center when she fell while attempting to transfer herself from a wheelchair to her bed. She was transported to Anderson Hospital and died the next day, the complaint states.

The plaintiff alleges the nursing home failed to provide adequate assistance and support.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Stephen J. Telken of Walton Telken LLC in Edwardsville.
