BELLEVILLE — A construction worker accuses a driver of speeding through a construction zone and causing injuries.

Arthur Sims filed a complaint on Aug. 31 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Brian C. Webb, alleging he sped through a construction zone.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was working in a construction zone on Frank Scott Parkway East in Shiloh when the defendant struck a construction sign, which then hit him in the head.

The plaintiff claims he suffered severe and disabling injuries to his head, neck and body.

The plaintiff alleges Webb failed to keep proper lookout and failed to obey posted signage in the construction site.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action. He is represented by Leah A. Captain of Cook, Bartholomew, Shevlin & Cook LLP in Belleville.
