BENTON — A distribution company and its employee face a lawsuit over a crash on Interstate 57.

Tiffany Penton filed a complaint on July 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois against Steven Shaer Khoshaba and Metro Parcel Freight Inc., alleging Khoshaba failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was injured when Khoshaba, who was driving the semi-tractor in the scope of his employment with Metro, struck the rear of her vehicle on Interstate 57 in Pulaski County. She claims she suffered permanent personal injury resulting in pain, suffering, loss of normal life, medical expenses and lost wages. The plaintiff says Khoshaba followed her vehicle more closely than was reasonable, failed to slow down and failed to switch lanes to avoid hitting her car.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $10 million. She is represented by Mark D. Prince of Prince Law Firm in Marion.
