EDWARDSVILLE — A St. Louis County resident is suing a tractor-trailer driver for allegedly causing a crash that put him in the hospital.
Gerard Moore filed a complaint on Aug. 31 in Madison County Circuit Court against Candy Sue Lewis, alleging that the tractor-trailer driver breached her duty to exercise due care while driving.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was traveling southbound on Interstate 270 when the defendant hit his vehicle and propelled him into other vehicles.
The plaintiff claims he suffered serious injuries, including a brain bleed, skull fracture, fibular fracture and partial thumb amputation.
The plaintiff holds Lewis responsible because she negligently changed lanes when it was unsafe to do.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000 and all further relief deemed proper and just. He is represented by Mark A. Cantor and Brian M. Winebright of Cantor Injury Law LLC in St. Louis.
