EDWARDSVILLE — A truck driver for R.P. Lumber is accused of causing a multi-vehicle collision in Centralia.

William Pennington, as administrator of the estate of Teresa S. Creps, deceased, filed a complaint on Sept. 5 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Kristoffer W. Koenig and R.P. Lumber Co. Inc., alleging Koenig failed to operate the truck owned by R.P. Lumber in a careful manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 20, 2016, Creps was driving her pickup truck on West McCord in Centralia when Koenig struck the vehicle behind Creps' vehicle, causing a multi-vehicle collision.

Creps sustained bodily injuries resulting in disability, disfigurement, pain and suffering, and medical expenses, the suit states.

The plaintiff alleges Koenig negligently used an electronic communication device while driving without maintaining a careful lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action. He is represented by Kevin Boyne of Kevin Boyne PC in Belleville.
