Car accident 17

BELLEVILLE — An injured Belleville resident accuses a man from O'Fallon of falling asleep at the wheel and causing a car accident.

Tracy E. Killion filed a complaint on Aug. 24 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Charles R. Tart.

According to the complaint, Killion's 2017 Nissan Versa was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Lebanon Avenue and Sierra Drive in Shiloh. Tart's vehicle slammed into the rear of Killion's car, the complaint states. Killion says she suffered permanent and disabling injuries to her head, lower back, legs and knees.

Killion alleges Tart drifted asleep while driving and failed to reduce his speed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Andrew G. Mundwiller of The Cagle Law Firm in St. Louis.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 18-L-562
