EDWARDSVILLE — A passenger accuses a motorist of negligence in a recent lawsuit over a car crash.
Deborah Maple filed a complaint on Sept. 6 in Madison County Circuit Court against Ronald James Sr., alleging the driver failed to exercise the highest degree of care in operating a motor vehicle.
According to the complaint, Maple was traveling as a passenger in 2014 Nissan Rogue headed eastbound on Humbert Road in Godfrey when James struck the rear of the vehicle. Maple claims she sustained serious and permanent injuries to her neck and back.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action. She is represented by Matthew R. Chapman of Becker, Schroader & Chapman PC in Granite City.
