EDWARDSVILLE — A girl claims she was injured last summer when a dog bit and scratched her face.

Lillian Cuvar, a minor by her mother and next friend Gina Denson, filed a complaint on Aug. 23 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Danny Hearn, Lisa Hearn and Amanda Hearn, alleging they breached their duty to ensure the safety of their guests.

According to the complaint, Culvar alleges that on June 7, 2017, she was peaceably upon the defendants' property when their dog bit and scratched her face.

She claims she suffered physical and mental injuries, resulting in pain, medical expenses, disfigurement and disability.

The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to restrain the dog, negligently allowed it to roam freely on their property and failed to warn others of the vicious propensity of the dog.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs and all other relief deemed just and proper. She is represented by George H. Albers of Butler & Kemper Law in Granite City.
