BELLEVILLE — A motorist and a passenger are suing another driver for allegedly causing a collision on Fullerton Road.
Larry Moore and Valerie Moore filed a complaint on Aug. 21 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Katurah Brown, alleging she negligently drove her vehicle at an excessive speed.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on April 14, they were traveling east on Fullerton Road in Swansea when the defendant caused her vehicle to strike the rear of the plaintiffs' vehicle.
The plaintiffs claim they sustained injuries to their bodies that caused them to endue disability, pain and suffering, incur medical expenses and lost wages.
The plaintiffs hold Brown responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, followed their vehicle more closely than was reasonable and failed to use evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant in an amount exceeding $50,000, plus costs. They are represented by Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey and Michelle M. Rich of Rich, Rich & Cooksey PC in Fairview Heights.
