BELLEVILLE — A woman is suing a driver for allegedly disobeying a stop sign and causing a collision.

Sharon Harris filed a complaint on Aug. 21 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Gavin Blaylock, alleging he breached his duty to exercise reasonable care in operating his vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 11, she was proceeding into the intersection of Sauget Business Boulevard and Sauget Industrial Parkway when the defendant entered the intersection and struck her vehicle.

She claims she suffered severe injuries resulting in lost wages, pain and suffering, disability and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff holds Blaylock responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, failed to reduce speed and negligently disobeyed a traffic control device.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in her favor in an amount of not less than $50,000, and all other relief deemed proper and just. She is represented by Jarrod P. Beasley of Kuehn, Beasley & Young PC in Belleville.
