EDWARDSVILLE — A transportation company faces a lawsuit after an employee crashed into a Macoupin County resident's vehicle.
Amber Ruehrup filed a complaint on Aug. 15 in Madison County Circuit Court against Swift Transportation Company and its driver Jose Huerta. She alleges the company improperly trained its driver in operating commercial vehicles.
According to the complaint, Ruehrup was traveling on the southbound off-ramp of Interstate 55/70 when Huerta allegedly carelessly operated the Swift commercial vehicle and caused it to strike plaintiff's vehicle. She claims she suffered serious injuries to her neck, head and back.
Ruehrup requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000. She is represented by Patrick Hinrichs of the Bradley Law Firm in St. Louis.
