EDWARDSVILLE — A Macoupin County woman's fall prompted a lawsuit against a nightclub in Alton.
Lori Ann Schnaare filed a complaint on Aug. 16 in Madison County Circuit Court against Bubby & Sissy's Inc.
According to the complaint, Schnaare fell on the property while walking down a flight of stairs. She hit her head, face and neck, the complaint states. Schnaare claims the bar did not properly light the area or maintain the stairs. In addition, she says, the business should have provided assistance to intoxicated customers who would have to descend the stairs.
Schnaare requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000. She is represented by Keith Short and Jack Daugherty of Short and Daugherty PC in Alton.
