BELLEVILLE — Two Millstadt homeowners allege their insurance company refuses to pay a flood damage claim.
David and Cynthia Horace filed a complaint on Aug. 13 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Erie Insurance Company, Erie Insurance Group and Klein-Merwin-Karrer & Associates Inc.
According to the complaint, the Horaces' home was damaged by a flood in 2016. They estimate damages are between $30-50,000, but their insurance company refused to pay that amount, the complaint states. They also accuse their insurance agent, Klein-Merwin-Karrer & Associates, of not recommending the proper insurance for their home.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $25,0000. They are represented by Ryan Horace of SWMW Law LLC in St Louis.
