Motorist sues logistics company over collision with employee

EDWARDSVILLE — A man is suing a logistics company after one of its employee's allegedly caused a collision.

James Haeffner filed a complaint on Aug. 21 in the Madison County Circuit Court against XPO Logistics Freight, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 7, 2017, the defendant's employee, Kyle Baker, negligently caused a collision after driving into the path of the plaintiff's vehicle. 

Haeffner claims he suffered severe physical injuries resulting in pain and suffering, lost wages and medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges XPO Logistics Freight's employee failed to yield, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to operate his vehicle in a safe manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages of not less than $50,000, with interest, attorney's fees, costs and all other relief deemed necessary and proper. He is represented by Benjamin J. Sansone of Sansone Sumner & Lauber in Clayton.
