EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims another driver ran a red light and caused a Fairview Heights collision.

Bobbie Brown filed a complaint on Aug. 21 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Alaina Meyer, alleging the other driver breached her duty to use care and caution while driving her vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 11, 2016, he was driving his 2013 Ford F150 truck, passing through the intersection of Interstate 64 and North Illinois in Fairview Heights when Meyer ran a red light and collided with Brown's vehicle. The plaintiff claims he sustained injuries and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Meyer responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently disobeyed a traffic control device, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to yield right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action. He is represented by Lanny Darr of Darr Law Offices Ltd. in Alton, and Michael Sudekum of Mandel & Mandel in St. Louis.
