Woman sues drivers over multi-vehicle collision

BELLEVILLE — A woman claims she was injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Canteen Township. 

Gina Costello filed a complaint on Aug. 16 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Randall K. Jones, Matthew A. Simpson, et. al., alleging they carelessly operated their vehicles and caused them to collide with other vehicles on the road.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug.16, 2016, she was traveling eastbound on Interstate 64 near the entrance from Interstate 255 in Canteen Township when the defendants negligently caused a multi-vehicle collision. Costello claims she sustained injuries resulting in severe pain and suffering, medical expenses, mental anguish and lost wages. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to take proper evasive action to avoid the collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Lloyd M. Cueto of Law Office of Lloyd M. Cueto in Belleville and Christopher Cueto of Law Office of Christopher Cueto Ltd. in Belleville.
