EDWARDSVILLE — An East Alton driver is being sued after allegedly causing an Alton collision.

Carla Price Lybarger, on behalf of her daughter Charlotte Lybarger, filed a complaint on Aug. 10 in Madison County Circuit Court against Victoria Jean Williams.

According to the complaint, Williams slammed into the back of the plaintiffs' 2015 Chevy Traverse while they were stopped at the intersection of East Broadway and Homer Adams Parkway in Alton.

Carla and Charlotte claim they suffered injuries requiring medical care, the complaint states.

They allege Williams failed to keep proper lookout, failed to operate her vehicle at a reasonable speed and failed to use proper evasive maneuvers to avoid collision.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $50,000. They are represented by Keith Short and Jack Daugherty of Short & Daugherty in Alton.
