BELLEVILLE — A mother and her minor children are suing a motorist for allegedly cause a collision that resulted in injuries.
Sultan Al-Uqdah and Vertruoz Al-Uqdah, minors by their mother Valerie Young, and Valerie Young, individually, filed a complaint on Aug. 3 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Steve Adams, alleging he negligently drove his vehicle in a manner that caused it to strike the vehicle in which plaintiff's children were passengers.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on March 1, Sultan Al-Uqdah and Vertruoz Al-Uqdah were injured when Adams struck the side of the plaintiffs' vehicle.
The minors allegedly suffered extensive injuries to their head, body, limbs, neck, back and shoulder.
The plaintiffs hold Adams responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, failed to properly apply brakes and failed to yield right of way.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in a fair and reasonable amount exceeding $50,000, plus costs. They are represented by Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey and Michelle M. Rich of Rich, Rich & Cooksey PC in Fairview Heights.
