BELLEVILLE — A St. Clair County resident accuses the fire department of causing an accident.
Erica Harden filed a complaint on July 23 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Camp Jackson Fire Protection District and its employee John Mays, for allegedly not safely driving a fire truck.
According to the complaint, Mays drove a fire truck through a red light at an Illinois Route 157 intersection and hit Harden's vehicle. Harden claims she sustained severe injuries resulting in medical expenses, disability and loss of normal life.
Harden requests a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Jarrod P. Beasley of Kuehn, Beasley & Young in Belleville.
