Car accident 41

EDWARDSVILLE — An Edwardsville resident is suing a Granite City driver for allegedly causing a rear-end collision in Glen Carbon.

Jessica Zeigler filed a complaint on July 25 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Nicole Zaruba, alleging the driver failed to maintain proper control of her vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 16, 2017, she was traveling south on Illinois Route 159 in Glen Carbon and was legally stopped to turn right on Glen Crossing Road when the defendant struck the rear of her vehicle.

Zeigler claims she suffered severe and permanent injuries resulting in pain and suffering, substantial medical expenses and was forced to expend monies to secure a substitute transportation.

The plaintiff alleges Zaruba failed to yield to the right of way, failed to keep proper lookout and negligently drove her vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in her favor in an amount of not less than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Ellen R. Burford of Burford Law Office in Granite City.
