BELLEVILLE — A long list of manufacturers face a lawsuit over a man's exposure to asbestos.

Benton Street III filed a complaint on July 19 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against several asbestos manufacturer, including Buffalo Air Handling and Semens Industry, alleging the companies did not properly warn him of the dangers of asbestos.

According to the complaint, Street was exposed to asbestos fibers throughout his working life. Street discovered he had lung cancer earlier this year. Street alleges the companies intentionally included asbestos fibers in their products when they knew its toxic properties.

Street requests a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000. He is represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian & Associates in Edwardsville.
