BELLEVILLE — A former machine builder and millwright claims several companies' products exposed him to asbestos fibers.

James A. Jrolf Jr. and Barbara Jrolf filed a complaint on July 19 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against the defendants, including AGCO Corporation, Dana Companies and Zurn Industries.

According to the complaint, James Jrolf Jr. was exposed to asbestos fibers emanating from certain products during his 37-year career. He became aware of his lung cancer in February, the complaint states. He claims he has suffered physical pain, mental anguish and medical expenses.

The plaintiffs claim the defendants intentionally included asbestos fibers in their products when they knew that it had toxic, poisonous and highly deleterious effect to human health.

The plaintiffs request a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000. They are represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian & Associates in Edwardsville.
