EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing two drivers for allegedly causing a multi-car collision on I-55 in December.

Wesley Wolbert filed a complaint on July 30 in the Madison County Circuit Court against David L. Bone, Charles D. Riley and LLL Transport Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 4, 2017, he was traveling north on Interstate 55 at milepost 18.3 when Bone struck LLL Transport's tractor-trailer, which was driven by Riley. The tractor-trailer then collided with Wolbert's vehicle.

Wolbert claims he suffered injuries resulting in pain and suffering, lost wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Bone and Riley failed to maintain careful lookout, drove their vehicles at an excessive speed, failed to maintain proper control of their vehicles and failed to sound audible warnings.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in his favor in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Ellen R. Birford of Burford Law Office in Granite City.
