BELLEVILLE — A man is suing his former employers for allegedly fabricating an alleged threat in order to terminate the plaintiff.
Demarcus Shropshire filed a complaint on July 13 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Sensient Technologies Inc. and Sensient Colors LLC, alleging wrongful termination.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendants penalized employees for denying making a threat that they did not actually make. Shrosphire claims he was later terminated on Dec. 12, 2017.
As a result, the plaintiff claims his reputation was damaged and lost income, employment benefits and other sources of income.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus costs of this action and all further relief as allowed by law. He is represented by Thomas G. Maag of Maag Law Firm LLC in Wood River.
