BELLEVILLE — The family of a deceased patient at Protestant Memorial Medical Center is suing the center after a nurse allegedly incorrectly gave the decedent pain medication.
Penny Willmann, as special administrator of the estate of Jerry Willmann, filed a complaint on July 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Protestant Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Medical Pain Clinic and Carol Kadonsky ANP, alleging medical malpractice.
According to the complaint, Kadonsky, a nurse, injected pain medication directly into Willmann instead of a pump that would have regulated the drugs. Willman died shortly after.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Joseph A. Bartholomew of Cook, Bartholomew, Shevlin & Cook in Belleville.
