Motorist alleges injuries from Alton collision

Lawsuits

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims he was injured when another driver exited an Alton parking lot and caused a collision.

Anthony J. Compton filed a complaint on July 6 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Charles S. Blasingim, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 26, 2017, he was traveling west on East Broadway in Alton when Blasingim exited the parking lot of Cheapies Tires and struck Compton's vehicle.

Compton claims he suffered serious and permanent injuries to his neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands.

The plaintiff holds Blasingim responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to yield while exiting a parking lot, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to give proper signal or warning.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in his favor in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Patrick G. King of Millerking LLC in East Alton.
