EDWARDSVILLE — A woman is suing two sports bar operators after a patron allegedly became intoxicated and assaulted her.

Jennifer Wood filed a complaint on July 9 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Doit's Village Inn Inc., Pump House of Wood River Inc. and Brandy Ficker, alleging they violated the Dram Shop Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 28, she was a customer at Doit's Village Inn in Granite City when she was violently assaulted by Ficker.

She claims she suffered injuries to her jaw, neck and back, resulting in pain and suffering, disfigurement, lost wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Doit's Vilage Inn and Pump House negligently gave or sold alcoholic beverages to Ficker, who became intoxicated.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against each defendant in a sum greater then $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Jane Unsell of Unsell, Schattnick & Phillips PC in Wood River.
