BELLEVILLE — A guest is suing a property owner after he allegedly fell on a stairway at a Belleville home.

Richard Eichacker filed a complaint on June 29 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Justin Johnson.

According to the complaint, Johnson invited Eichacker to his property when Eichacker fell due to toys blocking the stairwell.

He claims he sustained severe extensive and permanent injuries resulting in pain and suffering medical expenses, lost wages and inability to perform his usual duties, the complaint states.

Eichacker claims the toys remained on the stairwell for a prolonged period of time and there was not adequate lighting.

Eichacker requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Pamela Antonio Brennan in Belleville.
