St. Clair County resident sues driver for allegedly causing three-vehicle collision

BELLEVILLE — A St. Clair County resident is suing a driver for allegedly causing a three-vehicle collision and injuring him.

Stanley L. Fischer filed the lawsuit against Paul D. Jackson June 26 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, Fischer and another driver, Paul Hagel, came to a stop at the intersection of Old Collinsville Road and Holliday Drive when Jackson crashed into Hagel's vehicle, which then collided with Fischer's vehicle. 

Fischer claims Jackson is responsible for the crash due to carelessness, speeding or a combination of other factors.

Fischer sustained serious and permanent injuries to his head, neck, back, spine and shoulders, the lawsuit states. He seeks damages in excess of $50,000.

Fischer is represented by James E. Hopkins of the Brown & Crouppen law firm in St. Louis.
