Ascendum Machinery sues Specialty Contracting over truck rentals

A Madison County construction equipment dealer claims Specialty Contracting and its president failed to pay for equipment rentals.

EDWARDSVILLE — A Madison County construction equipment dealer claims Specialty Contracting and its president failed to pay for equipment rentals.

Ascendum Machinery inc. filed the complaint on July 2 in Madison County Circuit Court against Specialty Contracting Inc. and Jonathan Good, alleging they breached a contract. 

According to the complaint, Specialty Contracting rented two off-highway trucks, a Volvo A25F and Volvo A25. Ascendum says Specialty owes more than $31,000 in rent payments. The construction equipment dealer also claims Specialty damaged the trucks. 

Ascendum seeks a jury trial and damages. The company is represented by Jessica S. Holliday of Brown & James in Belleville and Todd A. Lubben of Brown & James in St. Louis.
