EDWARDSVILLE — A Madison County dog owner faces a lawsuit after a dog bit a boy visiting her home.

Briana Liljenberg filed the complaint on July 3 in Madison County Circuit Court against Susan Austin, alleging Austin did not keep her dog in a secured cage.

According to the complaint, Liljenberg and her son, Levi Jones, visited Austin's home in 2016. While they ate dinner, the dog escaped its cage and bit the boy several times.

Liljenberg seeks a jury trial by jury and damages of not less than $50,000. Liljenberg and Jones are represented by Dustin S. Hudson of Neubauer & Johnston in Fairview Heights.
