EDWARDSVILLE – A financial adviser alleges her former employer made fraudulent misrepresentations regarding compensation and benefits.

Denise Arendell filed a complaint on June 22 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Merrill Lynch, Bank of America Corp., et al. alleging fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of oral contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith at the office in Glen Carbon.

The plaintiff holds Merrill Lynch, Bank of America Corp., et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to grant the promised 20 percent of pool accounts in August 2014 but instead in July 2016, did not give her the promised 50 percent share of the profits of a team's production and other alleged failures.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages of more than $50,000, punitive damages, attorney fees and costs. She is represented by Colleen C. Jones of Cook, Bartholomew, Shevlin & Cook LLP in Belleville.
