BELLEVILLE – A Cahokia resident alleges a driver failed to stop at an East St. Louis intersection and struck his vehicle.

DeMario L. Weeden filed a complaint on June 22 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Clintavia R. Montgomery alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 22, he was traveling west on Market Avenue near its intersection with South 22nd Street in East St. Louis when the defendant struck his vehicle.

The plaintiff holds Montgomery responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and drove at a speed greater than reasonable.

The plaintiff seeks damages of no less than $50,000, plus costs of this action and all further relief as the court may deem just and equitable.

He is represented by Clay B. St. Clair of Crowder & Scoggins LTD in Columbia.
