BELLEVILLE – An estate administrator alleges that an Illinois hospital failed to diagnose her decedent's brain tumor.
Susan Schultz, as special representative of the estate of Raymond Schultz, filed a complaint on June 11 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against St. Elizabeth's Hospital of the Hospital of Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, et al. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between June 18 and Sept. 4, 2015, defendants provided medical services to Raymond Schultz. The plaintiff alleges that as a result of defendants' allegedly negligent acts and omissions, he was caused to die on Aug, 22, 2017.
The plaintiff holds St. Elizabeth's Hospital of the Hospital of Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to review actual neuroimaging studies and failed to timely diagnose and treat decedent's brain tumor.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against each defendant in an amount of more than $50,000, plus costs of court. She is represented by Joseph A. Bartholomew of Cook, Bartholomew, Shevlin & Cook LLP in Belleville.
