BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver following a Fairview Heights rear-end collision.
Angela Pierce filed a complaint on June 1 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Sharon Burkett, alleging she negligently operated her vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 5, 2017, she was driving on South Ruby Lane in Fairview Heights when the defendant struck the rear of her vehicle.
As a result, Pierce claims she suffered extensive injuries to her head, neck, back and shoulder.
The plaintiff alleges Burkett failed to keep proper lookout, failed to properly and timely apply brakes and followed her vehicle more closely than reasonable.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of not less than $50,000, plus costs of suit.
