Night club employee alleges patron struck him with car

BELLEVILLE — A night club employee is suing a patron for allegedly hitting him with his car in Washington Park. 

James Deboard filed a complaint on June 8 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Billy A. Hendrickson, alleging he breached his duty to exercise reasonable care and caution.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 28, he was employed at Scarlett's Night Club in Washington Park when Hendrickson struck him with his vehicle. 

Deboard claims he sustained injuries to his shoulder, head, neck, back and body. 

The alleges Hendrickson recklessly drove his vehicle while intoxicated, accelerated at a speed greater than reasonable and intentionally struck the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of court. 

He is represented by Lanny Darr of Darr Law Offices Ltd. in Alton.
