BELLEVILLE — A widow is suing Belleville Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, alleging its caretakers failed to properly care for her husband prior to his death.

Betty J. Harrison, as independent administrator of the estate of Robert K, Harrison, deceased, filed a complaint on May 30 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Belleville Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center Inc., et al, alleging care providers failed to ensure the health and safety of the decedent.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that sometime in 2015 and 2016, Robert Harrison was a long-term resident at the defendants' Bria Health Services of Belleville. During that time, the plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to follow a physician's order, failed to develop a comprehensive plan and failed to timely respond to the decedent's abnormal vital signs.

As a result, the decedent suffered multiple falls, resulting in serious and permanent injuries, disability, disfigurement and great pain and suffering until his death.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court.

She is represented by Eva E. Golabek of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
