Woman alleges injuries while exiting elevator

EDWARDSVILLE — A woman is suing Madison County after she was allegedly injured while existing an elevator. 

Lisa Boccaleoni filed a complaint on June 6 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Madison County, alleging it failed to make sure that its elevator was safe to use.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she was injured on July 26 when an elevator at a Madison County building allegedly malfunctioned as she was exiting. 

As a result, the plaintiff claims she suffered physical injuries and incurred medical expenses. 

Boccaleoni alleges the defendant failed to inspect and properly maintain the elevator.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount that exceeds $50,000, plus the costs of this action.
