Driver sues over Hartford collision

Car accident 44

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a Hartford collision.

Rachel Schroeder filed a complaint on June 4 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Trailnet Inc. and Stewart Drolet, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 26, 2016, she was injured when Drolet caused a vehicle owned by Trailnet to strike her vehicle on Illinois Route 3 in Hartford.

Schroeder claims she suffered significant injuries to her low back, left hip, left hand, abdomen and chest.

The plaintiff alleges Drolet failed to yield right of way, failed to keep proper lookout, carelessly attempted to make a left turn when it was not safe to do so and breached his duty to operate his vehicle in a safe manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this suit.

She is represented by Richard J. Zalasky and Ashley E. Vaughan of Brown & Crouppen PC in St. Louis.
