EDWARDSVILLE — A woman is suing Lake Shore Estates after her daughter allegedly fell through the floor of the residential building.

Shyann Dixon, a minor, by her mother, Jodie Douglas, filed a complaint on June 5 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Lake Shore Estates LLC and James Green Management Inc., alleging they breached their duties of ordinary care in operating and maintaining their building and residences.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 7, 2017, Dixon was a resident at Lake Shore Estates when she fell through the flooring.

Dixon allegedly suffered severe and permanent injuries resulting in great pain and anguish in mind and body, and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants negligently permitted its building premises to remain in a dangerous and unsafe condition by not repairing the defective flooring of the residence.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs of court.

She is represented by Gregory Tobin of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
