BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly running a red light and causing a collision in Fairview Heights.
Isaaic Mitchell filed a complaint on May 21 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Billie R. Weber, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 28, 2016, he was driving his vehicle at the intersection of Old Lincoln Trail and State Route 161 in Fairview Heights when Weber failed to stop at a red stop light and rear-ended the plaintiff's vehicle.
As a result, Mitchell claims he suffered serious injuries to his back, neck, groin and other parts of his body.
The plaintiff alleges Weber drove the vehicle at an excessive speed, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to yield right of way.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs of suit.
