BELLEVILLE — A patient claims doctors failed to properly diagnose a fracture.
Demetrios Zavradinos filed a complaint May 16 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dr. Casey Hollensteiner, Dr. Michael Jennewein, Memorial Hospital-East and others, alleging they failed to apply the skill and care ordinarily used by qualified health care providers.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that at times between June 24, 2016, and Aug. 26, 2017, he went to the defendants for medical care and treatment. During his treatment, Zavradinos alleges the defendants carelessly misread an X-ray and failed to diagnose a compression fracture.
He claims that as a result of the defendants' negligence, he has suffered permanent pain, mental anguish, disability and disfigurement. He also claims he has lost wages and has become liable for large sums of monies for medical care and treatment expenses.
The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $75,000, plus costs of this action.
